First and foremost, the people of Balsam believe in God, revealed in the pages of the Bible, who is constantly in the business of transforming lives - not with judgment but with unconditional love. That said, we also recognize that we are ALL on a journey and each of us comes with convictions, hopes, doubts and uncertainties.
We believe that we are called to be an engaged, active community of people who put our faith into action -- in countless ways, all over the world. Wherever you are in your faith journey, there is a place for you here. Come and see.
Above all, it is our goal to be formed into disciples of Jesus Christ so that God can use us to change the world with God's grace and mercy, transforming lives one person at a time.
A Lutheran approach to Christianity is more about a way to live than a system of doctrines to believe in.
We profess and worship the Triune God:
God the Father created and loves all of creation - the earth and the seas and all of the world's inhabitants.
God the Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, transforms lives through death on the cross and his new resurrected life.
We trust that God the Holy Spirit is active in the world, filling us with faith and sending us forth to serve.
We are part of God's unfolding plan
When we gather for worship, we connect with believers everywhere.
When we study the Bible or hear God's Word in worship, we are drawn more deeply into God's own saving story.
Our teaching or theology serves the proclamation and ministry of the Christian faith. It does not have an answer for all questions, not even all religious questions. Teaching or theology prepares members to participate in God’s action of reconciling the world.
