Mission Support. The Mission Support sign-up sheet is now up, so it's a good time for everyone to remember that we at Balsam provide support to a missionary family. Stephen and Bethany Friburg and their sons. Stephen is a doctor working in Tanzania. You can help support this family by giving anytime with the designation "missions". Or if you prefer to give to mark a special occasion, you can sign up on the bulletin board across from the mailboxes and pledge your support on a certain Sunday. Balsam is pledged to provide $1000 a year in support for the Fribergs' missionary work.
Community Service Project - Our congregation has started a new service for the community: packing backpacks for the Head Start kids to take home for weekend food. Pastor Matt is currently coordinating the program, but we will need a long-term coordinator for it. We also need folks to bring in plastic grocery bags for this program. See Pastor Matt for more information and to volunteer. Click here to see this new ministry in action.
Aluminum Cans. Remember to save aluminum cans. This is a great fund-raiser for our community outreach.
Prayer Stations. Prayer stations are available in the fellowship hall during and after communion. You are welcome to come after you take communion to request prayers.
Prayer Shawl Ministry. Please let Pastor Matt, Bonnie Corcoran, or Nancy Bottolfson know if there is someone in need of personal prayer, a visit, and a prayer shawl.
Prayer Requests / Prayer Chain. If you have a prayer request that you would like included in the prayers of the church, please talk to Pastor Matt before service. If you wish to have your prayer request on the prayer chain, please contact Julaine Berglund or Esther Nelson.
SCRIP Program. This program allows individuals to purchase gift cards for many local and national locations (gas stations, grocery stores, hair salons, garden centers, shopping centers, etc) and have a portion of your purchase go directly back to the church. You still get the same purchasing power at the merchant, and the church benefits as well.
WPCA advertising. Because we are supporters of WPCA (93.1 FM), we can have events advertised there for free. This is a resource we can certainly use more. Their e-mail is wpca@amerytel.net. Put "Calendar" in the subject line. Phone 715-268-9722. Fax 715-268-9411.
Food Shelves are always in need! Bring a non-perishable food item any week and place it in the shopping cart at the entrance of the church.
Church Calendar Instructions: There will be 5 months of calendars posted so everyone can see when the church is available. If you have something to add to the calendar, please put the information in the church mailbox and the church secretary will add it.
